Fortune Manning attends Interlaw in Singapore
As many clients will know, Fortune Manning is the exclusive member in New Zealand of Interlaw. Interlaw is a highly regarded law firm network for clients doing business internationally. Interlaw has earned the highest professional ranking with the Chambers and Partners legal directory as an "Elite Global Law Firm Network" and counts as its members top tier independent law firms in 130 cities worldwide.
Early in February, Fortune Manning partner, Rob Coltman, attended Interlaw's Asia Pacific regional conference at which there was a focus on the harmonisation of business law in the ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei).
The ASEAN region has a population of approximately 600 million people or 8.8% of the world's population. If ASEAN were a single entity, it would rank as the seventh largest economy in the world. As such, it is a significant trading partner for New Zealand business.
Through Interlaw, Fortune Manning has associate firms in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hanoi, Manila and with a new firm to join from Jakarta. In addition, we have member firms in Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Ghangzou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Clients with legal needs in Asia (or elsewhere in the world) should contact Rob for referral information.
