Robert was made a partner of the firm in 1996 having rejoined Fortune Manning after three years working as a commercial litigation solicitor with the London firms, Macfarlanes and Payne Hicks Beach.

• Statutory Liability – particularly under Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992
• Professional Indemnity including Solicitors, Building Sector Professionals, Trustees
• Fire and General – particularly property risks

• Advising employers on Individual Employment Agreements, Collective Employment Agreements, Restructuring and Redundancy, Disciplining and Termination of Employees and injunctions/recovery actions against former employees
• Advising parties to mergers and acquisitions on employment ramifications of their transactions 
• Advising insurers and employers on workplace liabilities

Commercial Litigation

• Litigation of liabilities (usually with a professional negligence component), particularly in the property development and building and construction sectors

Risk Management/Compliance

• Advice to corporates and insurers on statutory developments, liabilities – common law and statutory, development of policies and programmes to manage liability risks

Insolvency and Debt Recovery

• Overseeing Fortune Manning's insolvency team and specifically debt recovery for insurers, institutions and corporates
